Somalians win settlement

I read "Four evicted Somalis win settlements" in the Sioux City Journal this week, ok so i have many opinions about this article and i know some insight on the whole situation considering i know the guy that used to manage the arbors. It wasnt a racial thing at all the reason why these people were evicted was because not paying rent, etc. it wasnt a racial thing to get rid of them. I have several friends that live in the Arbors and a lot of somalians still live in those apartments. I feel that these somalians used their race as a excuse to make the arbors look bad and to get some of the money they werent paying back and this makes me angry. Maybe us as white people since we are becoming the minority in this town should start pulling crap like this and we might get some money too. This story really pissed me off and made the management and staff or arbor apartments look bad, which they ARE NOT!!!!!!

19 year old sioux city man in custody

I read "Man arrested in infant daughter's death back in Woodbury County" in the Sioux City Journal today. 19 year old Paul Hill was arrested for allegidly killing his 4 month old infant daughter. Tuesday morning when he was putting her in her car seat she quit breathing. She was taken to mercy and then flown to omaha childrens hospital where she was pronounced dead. I really dont know how to feel about this situation but sad for the family considering this little girl was only 4 months old i have heard 2 sides to this story and one of them is from a good friend who is good friends with Paul and what the media has said no one will really know what happened because no one was there its just to sad that this little girl had to die

Woman seeks justice

I read "Wife of man dragged by van wants justice" her husband was hit by a van and was drug by the vehicle for 20 miles on wednesday. The man was a Ecuadorean immigrant and this was the 3rd ecuadorean immigrant that has died fatally in new york in the past 3 months. The man was on his was to lay tile for work in Brooklyn when he was hit by a SVU at cross lights and then he was impaled by steel plate on the underside of a van, and dragged nearly 20 miles. The first man called the police to find the man gone, the second driver thought he had something under is vehicle but had stopped and didnt see anything so he continued to drive for 20 miles and one hour later a pedestrian noticed the mans body under his van and they notified the authorities. The man was 26 years old. I read this and the first thought in my head was what the heck you are telling me you drag somebody under your vehicle for 20 miles and you dont notice it? Well i guess it happens but i think the one at fault here was the guy that hit him at the cross walk but he did do what he was supposed to by calling the police. Well overall this was a sad situation and to bad somebody had to die so horribly i just feel bad for the family.

Funding For Disaster

I read "Lawmakers expected to take up bonding plan" in the Sioux City Journal today Iowa Lawmakers passed a 56 million dollar bill to help aid disaster victims. My first thougt when i read this was about dang time, last year Iowa experienced so much disaster with all the flooding. What really got me was that they weren't prepared for it and they should of been. One of my best friends is in the national guard was sent to Burlington Iowa and Des Moines to help with the aid efforts i understand it was his job but i couldn't help but feel uncomfortable with the whole situation because i was afraid considering how dangerous the situations were that something was going to happen to him. He came home, but i feel all of that could of been prevented last year or at least it wouldn't of been so bad if maybe they would of done something about this last year everyone knew the bad weather was coming so why couldn't they try to help it instead of letting it get so bad well at least they are going to be prepared this year, and now the Iowa lawmakers are planning on taking it to the capital to try to get it tripled!
